Transportation & Loading Assistant

Position Overview
As a key member of the team, you will report directly to the Transportation and Loading Lead and work closely with the Installation and Service Lead. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring timely and safe delivery of cabinets, maintaining excellent customer communication, and assisting with the coordination of installation schedules. Your role will also involve working closely with other team members to ensure all components arrive at the job site in good condition and are installed according to customer specifications.

Customer Communication: Act as a liaison between the customer and the installation team, providing clear updates on delivery, installation, and service appointments. Address customer inquiries and resolve any concerns promptly and professionally.

Coordination with Installation & Service Lead: Maintain constant communication with the Installation and Service Lead to ensure timely deliveries, particularly when working without a technician present.

Component Management: Work closely with the Lead Finishing Technician to track the location of finished components and ensure all parts are delivered to the job site as required for installation.

Compliance and Safety: Follow all Windmill Cabinet Shop Ltd. policies, procedures, and local laws, particularly regarding onsite safety and road safety regulations. Ensure proper organization of tools and materials as directed by customers or contractors.

Problem Resolution: Address and communicate any issues or conflicts that arise during delivery or installation. Work collaboratively with the Installation and Service Lead to find effective solutions.

Professionalism: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all customer interactions, especially when handling complaints or concerns.

Adherence to Instructions: Ensure no alterations are made to the final build specifications, delivery instructions, or installation plans without proper approval from the Installation and Service Manager.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in delivery or customer service, preferably in a related field.

Communication: Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage calmly and professionally with customers, as well as clearly communicate any issues or updates to team members and customers.

Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and resolve delivery or installation challenges as they arise.

Driver’s License: Valid Ontario driver’s license with no major convictions. A loss of license could result in termination.
